  • French leader urges calm in North Korea crisis

Xi Jinping, the leader of North Korea's key ally China, urged Trump on Saturday to avoid rhetoric that could inflame tensions, after the U.S. leader ramped up his warnings to Pyongyang, saying the Stalinist regime would "truly regret" taking hostile action against the United States. "President Trump stated that the United States is ready, along with its allies, to apply the full range of diplomatic, economic, and military measures to achieve that goal", said a readout of the phone call.

"The North Korean regime is the cause of this problem and they must fix it", he said on Twitter.

"Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely".

"We are working with the USA and our partners in the region to bring this crisis to a diplomatic end".

Discussing the escalating war of words between the US and North Korea over the latter's rogue nuclear program, Ellison raised eyebrows by saying the North Korea's despotic leader was acting better than the USA president. "What we need is someone bringing calm to the situation, not spiking it".

Significant strength was also visible among software stocks, as reflected by the 1.2% gain posted by the Dow Jones Software Index. The data comes amid tepid inflation that has remained below the Fed's 2 percent target, despite low unemployment.

In a statement, the 39-year-old voiced his "concern at the ballistic and nuclear threat coming from North Korea", saying world leaders needed to work to get Pyongyang to "resume the path of dialogue without conditions".

The call followed the latest barrage of threats from Mr Trump, declaring the United States military forces were "locked and loaded" and warning Kim he "will regret it fast" if he takes any action against USA territories or allies.

Following that vote, reports indicated that the country has developed a miniaturized nuclear warhead capable of fitting on a missile.

It prompted Mr Trump to warn that he would unleash "fire and fury" on North Korea if it did not stop its threats to the US.
