Uber Board Will Weigh Removing Executive Emil Michael

After a tumultuous few weeks for Uber, we're finally seeing real changes at the company.

Now, Kalanick is reportedly thinking about a leave of absence, though that may not be tied to any report.

According to a New York Times report, the company's board on Sunday moved to shake up the leadership of Uber owing to reports of Uber turning a blind eye to sexual harassment and corporate misbehavior. And it is for certain that any reduction of his involvement in Uber would be significant, given that he molded the ride-hailing service in his own brash image.

According to Reuters, Kalanick and two allies on the board now have voting control of the company.

Uber's board will likely tell employees and the public of its decisions by Tuesday, one of the sources said.

Uber executive Eric Alexander was sacked last week after reporters pressed the company about reports he had carried around confidential records of a woman who was raped during an Uber ride in India.

The event that sparked the investigation into the company occurred back in February when former Uber engineer Susan Fowler claimed that she was harassed by her boss on a number of occasions.

Turkey and Russian Federation to deploy in Syria's Idlib - Erdogan spokesman
The three countries had been due to finalise maps of the de-escalation zones by June 4, but have not said whether agreement has been reached.

Since the investigation started in March, Kalanick has been at the center of Uber's harassment scandal as reports from former employees claimed the company's culture and tone was set from the top.

Earlier this month, Uber fired over 20 employees after an investigation into allegations of harassment.

Board members voted unanimously to adopt all of the firm's recommendations, which were to be released to employees on Tuesday, the spokesman said. Foreshadowing the widespread reports of sexism at the company that came out this year, tech writer Sarah Lacy of PandoDaily had accused the company of sexism and misogyny back then, hearing enough rumors within, and she became a prime target of Michael's opposition research campaign.

Pressure has continued to mount on Kalanick after a video emerged of him verbally attacking an Uber driver. He later apologised, saying "I must fundamentally change as a leader and grow up".

At the same meeting; however, the board members were considering a separate proposal for Kalanick to take a leave of absence following the death of his mother in a boating accident late last month, the Journal and other outlets reported.

Uber have yet to return RT's request for comment.
