Trump Terminates DAPA Program Leaving 5 Milion Undocummented Inmigrants Without Protection

For now the "Dreamers" program-officially, the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) - will remain in place, the Homeland Security Department said.

The plan unveiled by Obama meant to let roughly 4 million people - those who have lived illegally in the USA at least since 2010, have no criminal record and have children who are United States citizens or lawful permanent residents - get into a program that shields them from deportation and supplies work permits.

Now that Trump has chose to keep the program in place, many of his strongest supporters may be angered by the president's latest immigration decision.

"Prior to implementation of DAPA, twenty-six states challenged the policies established in the DAPA memorandum in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas". The protection can be revoked at any time, and some young immigrants have lost DACA protections after being arrested for crimes.

Breathing a sigh of relief, "dreamers" will continue to benefit from the Obama-era "DACA" program, granting undocumented children a temporary legal status.

Lisa Rivas, a Danbury immigration attorney, said she wasn't surprised about the DAPA announcement because of the Supreme Court decision.

London police say several injured after vehicle rams pedestrians in Finsbury Park
The Finsbury Park Mosque - located in a vibrant, multicultural area of north London - was once closely associated with extremism. He said: "people have died today and as Muslims we don't feel safe going to the mosque anymore, we are being victimised".

Since assuming office, President Trump has expressed dismay for the beneficiaries of the program, describing them as day dreamers, who could not remember living anywhere else except the United States. The program applies to children who were brought to the United States illegally. A year ago the US Supreme Court deadlocked on the case, with the effect that the lower court ruling stood. They're trying to distract us with their back-and-forth on DACA as their mass deportation machine proceeds full speed ahead.

In a week of governmental efforts to slow immigration flows down, the Trump administration has formally stopped the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA) program from taking root.

The second one, DAPA, was for illegal-immigrant parents of children who are USA citizens by virtue of having been born here.

On Thursday, Kelly endorsed the news according to which Trump administration is shutting down protection for immigrant parents. In a speech on immigration given in August 2016, Trump said, "We will immediately terminate President Obama's two illegal executive amnesties in which he defied federal law and the Constitution to give amnesty to approximately 5 million illegal immigrants".

Pro-immigration advocates had held out hope that DAPA could go into effect.
