Police on Tuesday questioned a man suspected of deliberately mowing down Muslims in London, as the interior minister said Britain was "bruised but not broken" by a series of terror attacks.
Community leader Abjol Miah said anti-Muslim sentiment has increased lately but was optimistic about the possibility of people coming together.
According to APP, global media has named the suspect Darren Osborne, father of four, who witnesses said shouted: "I want to kill all Muslims", while mowing down worshippers near a mosque in the Finsbury Park. Since then incidents of hate crime have risen, police say.
Khalid Amin told BBC television that when people seized the driver, "he was shouting: "All Muslims, I want to kill all Muslims".
Where did it take place? .
Spencer said May and her government, "due to their supine response to jihad, bear the ultimate responsibility for the horrific incident at the Finsbury Park Mosque".
Finsbury Park Mosque made headlines more than a decade ago for its links to radical preacher Abu Hamza al-Masri, who was sentenced to life a U.S. prison in January 2015 on terrorism-related charges.
The scene is just metres from the main railway line linking London with Edinburgh, the main Arsenal Football Club shop and what was the Rainbow Theatre, considered the prestige London concert venue in the 1960s and 1970s.
Osborne was initially arrested for attempted murder and later further arrested for the commission, preparation or instigation of terrorism including murder and attempted murder.
British media report that some of Osborne's neighbors have described the father of four as "aggressive" and "strange".
The terror probe led investigators to the Welsh capital Cardiff, where they searched a property said by media to be the home of Darren Osborne.
The attack unfolded as an elderly man was receiving first aid from members of the public. That man later died.

London terror attack suspect named by media
The imam of Muslim Welfare House - which is also a community centre - said a passing police van was flagged down after the attack. According to multiple reports and social media posts, the van ran over people leaving the Finsbury Park Mosque.
Abdulrahman Aidroos said he and his friends were attending to the man who had collapsed when suddenly he saw a van driving "straight into us".
The prime minister seized on the attacks in Manchester and on London Bridge to try and strengthen her position under conditions of a snap general election that she had called two years ahead of schedule.
The attack raised fears of retaliation against Muslims after a series of deadly assaults in Britain by Islamist extremists.
Police issued an initial statement at 1:03am saying a vehicle had collided with pedestrians. Despite his clear racist motivation, he was not charged with plotting an act of terrorism, and the case's judge said to Doggart "you are not a monster...in many respects, you lived a life of honor".
As Mr Kozbar finished speaking there were cheers and shouts of Allahu Akbar from the throng of people, with many holding signs which said "united against all terror".
One witness told the BBC he held down the suspect for 20 to 30 minutes before officers appeared.
In France Monday, a man on the radar of French authorities for extremism was killed after ramming a auto carrying arms and explosives into a police convoy on Paris' famed Champs-Elysees Avenue, setting off a fiery blast and a cloud of orange smoke, officials said.
Earlier, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick said the incident was "quite clearly an attack on Muslims".
"If you were interested in targeting a group of Muslims at a mosque that was notorious, this would be the mosque you would do it at". "When he was running, he said, 'I want to kill more people, I want to kill more Muslims, '" he said. Over the past weeks and months, Muslims have endured many incidents of Islamophobia, and this is the most violent manifestation to date.
