  • Reward offered for info in shooting of armored truck worker

Authorities said an armored truck driver was fatally shot during an apparent armed robbery outside of a Louisiana bank.

The FBI announced the reward at a press conference Thursday afternoon.

Jeffrey Sallet, FBI special-agent-in-charge, was joined by representatives from the New Orleans Police Department and Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans.

This is the second armored truck employee gunned down in New Orleans since late 2013. The employee has not been identified.

Police say the armored auto workers were servicing the drive-through ATM machines of the Campus Federal Credit Union at Tulane Ave. and S. Galvez St. around 4:30 yesterday afternoon, when they were approached by two multiple suspects who demanded cash, then opened fire.
