  • Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan watches along with his players during the final minutes of the third period in Game 4 of the NHL hockey Stanley Cup Finals against the Nashville Predators Monday

The one chance the Penguins finished tied the score 1-1 in the first period.

Sixty-six seconds later, the Predators' lead was gone. Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby scored on a breakaway about a minute later. Crosby faked a shot from behind the left face-off circle before moving in and finding the back of the net courtesy of a backhanded shot that bounced off the right post and off Nashville netminder Pekka Rinne.

Game 4 marked the sixth time in their last 11 games the Penguins have scored just one goal, compared to just twice in 24 playoff games last spring.

Gaudreau has only a chair in the locker room, but he is the second player in National Hockey League history to score his first three career goals in a Final, joining Johnny Harms with the 1944 Blackhawks.

Another fan said, "I actually was on the plaza down here on Broadway for New Year's Eve 2016, and it was not that insane on New Year's Eve even". However, it was initially waved off.

What was initially called a save by Murray was overturned when the review team determined the puck crossed the line.

The Penguins' penalty kill had yielded four goals in this series, but they locked things down against the Predators in Game 4. "To be able to take the road that he has, come out on the end, be a contributing player in the Stanley Cup Finals". The first was John Harms of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1944 playoffs.

The Predators returned home trailing the Penguins 2-0 in the series and proceeded to win two straight in the incredible atmosphere of Bridgestone Arena on the strength of timely scoring and Rinne's fabulous goaltending.

Those spectacular saves were merely a warmup for Rinne, who stopped a point-blank backhander by Crosby on another breakaway and stretched himself full-length across the crease to keep out Guentzel's attempt to score on the rebound.

"This time of year, it's about results", winger Bryan Rust said.

Notes: Fisher, scoreless until the Final, now has four points with his fourth on his 37th birthday. Then the goalie slid to his right stopping Guentzel with an assist from Nashville defenseman Roman Josi. Filip Forsberg's empty-netter late in the third period capped the scoring.

"Obviously when you win the chain, it's recognition from your teammates you contributed and you had a solid night", Irwin said. He stopped some high-quality shots, too.

"They have evened the series at two games apiece, going back to Pittsburgh", Harris said as the pair made out behind him. Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final is set for Thursday back in Pittsburgh, where the Penguins took the series' first two games.

"We believe that we have some guys that are due to score some goals here", Sullivan said Tuesday.

Backed by their raucous home fans, the Predators are 8-1 in the postseason at Bridgestone Arena. He asked them before the game not to throw anything onto the ice.

"I could be sitting on the floor and I'd take it". Personally, I wasn't really happy with my game.

After dropping the first two games in Pittsburgh, Nashville held serve on Saturday night in Game 3, in front of a raucous home crowd which seems to have absolutely fallen in love with the team.
