London apartment fire: Rage as death toll climbs to at least 58

Police have confirmed that 30 people are dead after the west London tower block caught fire in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Many in the United Kingdom are upset with Prime Minister Theresa May for her response - or lack thereof - to the Grenfell Tower fire.

"We've always been advocates of automatic fire sprinkler protection in tall tower blocks and they work - people don't die in sprinkler buildings", he said.

Residents of the tower say May was far too slow to visit the stricken community, that the building had been unsafe, and that officials have failed to give enough information and support to those who have lost relatives and their homes.

The total death toll in Grenfell fire is feared to reach up to three-figure numbers.

May met with victims Friday and promised the government would respond, following criticism directed at how her government has handled the situation.

. Some shouted "coward" as she left by a side door. "The people are waking up to the right-wing, mainstream media and May just doesn't get the public mood".

Smoke and flames billows from Grenfell Tower as firefighters attempt to control a blaze at a residential block of flats on June 14, 2017 in west London.

"Sadly at this time there are 58 people who we were told were in Grenfell Tower on the night, who were missing, who I have to assume are dead". We investigate criminal matters. "I absolutely get why they're angry", Green said.

He was the first victim of the fire to be formally identified by police.

The cops and the rescue department have intensified their search and service dogs have also joined the grim search for bodies in Grenfell Tower which turned into ashes. "My heart goes out to those affected", Cundy said.

"My commitment to families is that as soon as we can, we will locate and recover their loved ones." the commander said.

Cundy said authorities plan to release video and photographs from inside the badly-charred building.

Commander Cundy said: "The time it is going to take us to undertake the search and recovery operation is going to be significant".

Among concerns previously been raised by people in the wake of the fire was the lack of a centralised missing person list and worries over where Grenfell residents will be rehoused. "It is a truly terrifying thought but the Grenfell Action Group firmly believe that only a catastrophic event will expose the ineptitude and incompetence of our landlord, the KCTMO". The building was run by Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation (KCTMO) on behalf of Kensington and Chelsea London Borough Council.

Residents have become outraged in the days after the fire.

.

Earlier on Saturday, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip observed a moment of silence to honor the victims. They paid their respects before the start of the annual Trooping the Color procession that marks the observance of the queen's birthday.

"She is as distraught as anyone, as all of us are, we all feel the sadness, we all recognise the anger and can see why people are that angry and the prime minister feels that as much as anyone", he added.
