"L'aviation de la coalition internationale a visé cet après-midi un de nos avions de combat dans la région de Resafa, dans le sud de la province de Raqa, alors qu'il menait une mission contre le groupe terroriste Etat islamique", a indiqué l'armée dans un communiqué publié en soirée.

L'armée syrienne avait accusé plus tôt la coalition internationale dirigée par Washington d'avoir abattu un de ses avions dimanche dans la province de Raqa (Nord), où les troupes gouvernementales sur le terrain se rapprochaient considérablement des forces soutenues par les États-Unis.

Dans un communiqué publié lundi, le ministère russe de la Défense a fait savoir qu'il considérait la destruction de l'avion de guerre syrien comme "une violation cynique de la souveraineté" de la Syrie et "une violation flagrante du droit international et, de fait, une agression militaire contre la Syrie".

La Russie est impliquée militairement au côté du régime de Bachar al-Assad dans la guerre en Syrie, alors que les Etats-Unis soutiennent et arment une alliance arabo-kurde rivale et des rebelles syriens.

En plus de l'incident américano-syrien, l'Iran, autre allié du régime Assad, a tiré pour la première fois dimanche des missiles contre des cibles du groupe jihadiste Etat islamique (EI) en Syrie.

Après avoir largement avancé dans le nord, notamment avec la conquête d'Alep, le régime syrien progresse depuis mai dans le centre et le sud du pays, et se dirige dorénavant vers l'est.

Ces combats sont les premiers du genre entre armée syrienne et FDS, les Forces démocratiques syriennes.

Mais dans le même temps, avec cette nouvelle progression, "les troupes du régime n'ont jamais été aussi proches des FDS dans les environs de la ville de Raqa", a ajouté M. Abdel Rahmane.

Déclenchée par la répression de manifestations pro-démocratie, le conflit en Syrie a fait plus de 320.000 morts.
