BJP Parliamentary Party Meet To Discuss Presidential Candidate Today

The process to elect the next head of state began on Monday.

The parliamentary board of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will meet here on Monday to discuss the upcoming presidential election. But the surprising part is that the ruling party i.e. the BJP has still not announced its candidate.

This three-member committee, which was constituted by Shah last week, comprises of senior BJP leaders and Union ministers Rajnath Singh, M Venkaiah Naidu and Arun Jaitley.

The Board members will be briefed about the consultation undertaken by a three-member party committee with allies and opposition parties.

The Presidential polls, if needed, will be held on July 17 and the counting of votes will take place on July 20.
