USA officials expressed outrage after what they described as a "brutal attack" Tuesday by Erdogan bodyguards on a small group of pro-Kurdish protesters who gathered on the U.S. capital's "Embassy Row" after Erdogan met with President Donald Trump at the White House.

Eleven people were injured, including one police officer.

Both pro- and anti-Erdogan groups had gathered outside the embassy Tuesday.

The clip shows Erdogan emerging from a auto to watch the melee before heading inside the Turkish ambassador's residence.

The footage shows the Turkish President sitting in the vehicle and listening to the chants of the protesters, who were shouting "Child Killer Erdogan".

A video emerged Thursday of Erdogan watching members of his security detail violently clash with protesters in D.C.

Earlier on Tuesday, Erdogan met with President Donald Trump at the White House, where the two leaders vowed to fix their countries' relationship and re-establish an economic and military partnership. The Secret Service said it plans to work with the police and the State Department "to aggressively pursue accountability for those involved in yesterday's protests".

Erdogan said he told the United States that Turkey could not be part of the operation to retake the Syrian city of Raqqa from Islamic State because of the participation of the YPG.

Oil steadies early Tuesday but rattled by concern about OPEC's clout
The oil nations decided late previous year on an output cut of 1.8 million barrels per day (bpd) to reduce global oil inventories. Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister, Khalid Al-Falih, said on Monday that oil markets were rebalancing after years of oversupply.

The statement added that, "Turkey is a key NATO Ally that faces legitimate domestic security concerns emanating from ISIS, PKK, and other designated terrorist organizations".

McCain said "this kind of thing can not go unresponded to diplomatically".

And that's what we saw playing out later that day near the Turkish embassy grounds, when otherwise peaceful protesters were set upon by Turkish government thugs.

Republican Senators Marco Rubio (Florida) and Ted Cruz (Texas) called on the Turkish government to immediately apologize for the violence.

Nauert said in her statement that the United States respects Turkey's concerns about its approach, and will continue regular consultations on the issue.

Erdogan, who met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House just hours before the fighting broke out on Tuesday, briefly witnessed the brawl in which nine people were left requiring hospital treatment.

"We should throw their ambassador the hell out of the United States of America", said McCain on MSNBC's Morning Joe show, in response to video that appears to show the violence.

What happened next has been described by the DC Police Department's Chief as a "brutal attack" on peaceful protestors.
