Portugal was celebrating its first Eurovision victory last night, after crooner Salvador Sobral won the contest with a ballad sung in his native tongue.

The song Sobral performed was written by his elder sister Luisa.

Bulgaria's Kristian Kostov came second with 615 points and Moldova's SunStroke Project placed third, 374 points.

"We live in a world of fast food music".

"Music is not fireworks, music is feeling. bring music back which is what matters".

Lucie Jones, who represented the United Kingdom with "I'll Never Give Up on You", came 15th with 111 points. The UK finished on 111 points.
