Ohio police chief, 2 nursing home workers killed by gunman

According to authorities on Friday, a gunman fatally shot the police chief of an OH town as well as two nursing home employees.
Thorp identified the slain police chief as 36-year-old Steven Eric Disario, who headed the Kirkersville Police Department. The last dispatch from Disario was that he'd spotted the suspect, according to WSYX ABC 6.
When a shot was sacked at the chief, the hostages escaped unharmed.
DiSario was found outside the building by sheriff's office deputies, who pulled him to safety Friday morning, Thorp said.

The gunman was in a wooded area behind the nursing home when he encountered two passers-by, whom he temporarily took hostage. "These things don't happen here".
"No one is going in, no one is going out", Richards said.
As of May 3, the facility was serving 23 Medicaid patients, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
