NHS computer systems are returning to normal after the ransomware cyber attack, health secretary Shona Robison has said.

The ransomware attack struck British National Health Service organisations, along with computer networks of companies and municipalities in dozens of other countries.

Smith also urged Windows users to protect themselves against increasingly sophisticated cyber criminals by updating their systems, suggesting that "this attack demonstrates the degree to which cybersecurity has become a shared responsibility between tech companies and customers".
