The US man wanted for killing an elderly man in OH and then posting a video of the murder on Facebook fatally shot himself Tuesday after a brief pursuit in neighboring Pennsylvania, police said.

Stephens, the subject of a rapidly expanding nationwide manhunt following the horrific slaying Sunday in OH, was spotted by Pennsylvania State Police troopers in Erie County on Tuesday morning, the agency announced.

On Sunday, Stephens allegedly shot and killed 74-year-old Robert Godwin, Sr., on E. 93rd Street and posted video of the killing to his Facebook account.

They last talked Saturday night, she told the affiliate, when Stephens told her he'd quit his job and was moving out of state. Before Green's phone died, Stephens told her he was "shooting people" because he was "mad with his girlfriend" of about three years, his mother said. "I don't think there's anything we can point to specifically to say that this is what sparked this". Don't go out here and do something stupid. "I didn't know it was serious, and he just ended his own life", Green said.

Stephens, 37, had posted video of him killing Mr Goodwin in an apparently random attack after spotting him while driving in Cleveland.

One analyst attending F8 said it was no surprise Mr Zuckerberg had felt compelled to discuss the matter.

"Each one of us forgives the killer, the murderer", Godwin-Baines said Monday.

Employees at the McDonald's on Buffalo Road, in Harborcreek Township, said a drive-through attendant alerted state police when Stephens stopped at the restaurant's drive-through window shortly after 11 a.m.

Police said it wasn't clear whether Stephens had any help while he was on the run or where he had been and that investigators will try to retrace his steps. You know, they need to take this as a lesson.

"I$3 t forever will be in my mind because I saw the fear in my father's eyes". Stephens said to Godwin before asking him to say the name "Joy Lane". "I honestly can say right now that I hold no animosity in my heart against this man".

Currently, thousands of people around the world review the millions of items that are reported to us every week in more than 40 languages.

More than 400 tips poured in before the suspect was spotted, and members of Godwin's family had offered Stephens their forgiveness.

Stephens was employed at Beech Brook, a behavioral health agency in northeastern OH that serves children, teenagers and families, according to a spokeswoman for the facility.
