RCMP confirm two people have died following a train derailment in the small B.C. community of Woss.

RCMP Island District General Investigation Section is investigating along with the Coroners Service, the Transportation Safety Board and WorkSafeBC.

The cause of the accident is being investigated, but early reports indicate a crew on the tracks was buried beneath logs when rail cars crashed into them.

Western Forest Products said they provide more information as it becomes available.

Western Forest Products confirmed its personnel and materials were being transported on the Englewood Railway train when it derailed. "The safety and security of our staff and community is very important to us".
