During his visit, according to the Minister, PM Modi will take part in the UN "Vesak Day" celebrations to be held here from May 12 to 14.

Prime Minister Modi will make his second visit to Sri Lanka in the second week of May, Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe said here.

Following an official request from the Sri Lankan government, the UN Vesak Day committee met at the previous UN Vesak Day held in Thailand, had agreed to host it in 2017 in Sri Lanka.

The celebration are being held in Sri Lanka for the first time in 13 years.
