  • Ian McShane: 'Deadwood' Revival Movie Script 'Has Been Delivered to HBO'

Deadwood originally ran on HBO for three 12 episode seasons in 2004 - 2006 and was nominated for 28 Emmys during its run, winning 8 of them. Ian McShane, who plays Al Swearengen on the original series, has confirmed that the script "has been delivered to HBO", AceShowbiz reports.

HBO has had some success turning television series such as Sex and the City and Entourage into feature length films, but one that many fans have asked for over the years is a big screen outing for the Western series Deadwood.

Ian McShane portrayed Al Swearengen in HBO's popular "Deadwood".

He added: "If they don't deliver [a finished product], blame them".

He added that he's talked with Milch about "some of" the script.

McShane expressed interest in doing the movie, saying, "We'd all love to do it... It would be nice to see all of the old gang again", McShane continued.

"Deadwood" executive producer and creator David Milch.

Ian's confirmation marks a significant progress to the revival since it was confirmed that the project had been commissioned on the network. Back in January, HBO's top programming exec Casey Bloys told TVLine that he hadn't seen a script yet.

"I know he's working on it".

At the time, Lombardo said, "David has our commitment that we are going to do it".

McShane, 74, is featured as Mr. Wednesday on the upcoming Starz supernatural drama "American Gods", an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's book of the same name.
